Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about Heroes Guild.
Heroes Guild is designed for kids ages 8-14. We group heroes by age and experience level to ensure everyone has an engaging, appropriately challenging experience.
We ask for a minimum 2-day per week commitment. This ensures kids can build meaningful relationships and experience continuity in their quests and character development.
Not at all! We welcome complete beginners. Our Guild Guides are experts at introducing kids to tabletop gaming and Minecraft in a supportive, low-pressure environment. Many of our most engaged heroes started with zero experience.
Our small group sizes (max 8 kids per Guild Guide) allow us to differentiate activities and provide individual support. We're experienced working with neurodiverse kids and adapt our approach to meet each hero where they are.
We believe challenging behaviours are often unmet needs in disguise. Our structured environment, clear expectations, and engaging activities help most kids thrive. We'll work with you during enrollment to understand your child's needs and develop strategies together.
Guild Guides are carefully selected adults with experience in youth development, education, or related fields. All guides undergo background checks and training in our methodology. They're passionate about gaming and even more passionate about helping kids grow.
Games are our tools, not our goal. Every activity is designed to build real skills like critical thinking, collaboration, communication, emotional regulation, and more. We use the engagement of gaming to facilitate genuine growth and development.
Extended Care refers to our optional Before Care (8:00-9:00 AM) and After Care (3:00-6:00 PM) programs. These allow families to drop off earlier or pick up later than our core Day Program hours (9:00 AM - 3:00 PM). Extended Care is available as an add-on for Day Program families.
Before Care (8:00-9:00 AM): Early drop-off with supervised free play and light activities.
After Care (3:00-6:00 PM): Extended supervision with free play, D&D mini games, and relaxed activities. Kids can unwind after the day's quests while waiting for pickup.
